Walks -
The forest is one of Naseby's best features and is a fantastic place to go walking. You can spend as much time as you like enjoying the scenery - the shorter walks take around an hour and others can take all day.
Mountain biking -
The forests around Naseby are also very popular in the mountain biking scene, and the tracks here are known to be among the best in New Zealand. There are many fast, challenging and every-changing trails with fast down-hill sections and natural berms.
Hunting -
There are year-round hunting opportunities. You can try your luck at hunting for red deer, pigs, rabbits, hares, possums, duck and water fowl.
Golf -
There is a nine-hole golf course in town with beautiful views of the mountains and Maniototo Plain.
Sports -
There are tennis courts and a bowling green in town.
Fishing -
The lakes, rivers and dams around Naseby are fantastic fishing spots and some are simply bursting with fish. Some of the lakes are so heavily populated there isn't even a daily limit.
Curling -
This ancient Scottish sport has been played in Naseby for the last 120 years and the town has its own artificially-assisted rink. Curling is like playing bowls on ice. Teams of four people slide large stones along the ice towards a goal at the other end.
